COCA-COLA BEGINS DUNDAS SQUARE HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN

Coca-Cola has undertaken a synchronized display of holiday advertising in Dundas Square in downtown Toronto. This is the first time the location has been given over to the advertising of a single company. At 5:30 pm each day during the campaign, five video screens in the square will display a 15-second version of Coca-Cola's "Real Holidays" television commercial. This ad, first shown in Argentina, was adapted for Canada by Cossette last year. The ad depicts holiday activities such as gift exchanges and light displays. The Dundas Square initiative will run until the end of the year. "This is a great advertising first for Coca-Cola," said Chris Johnston, the company's director of carbonated soft drinks. "No other beverage is as strongly associated with the holidays and this commercial truly captures the role that Coca-Cola plays during this time of year."
