PLANNED PARENTHOOD FEDERATION RELEASES NEW PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Specialty television station MuchMusic of Toronto has created a new public service announcement for the Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada. The ad, called "Groovy New Feelings," is aimed at teens and young adults. It promotes the availability of information on sexuality, pregnancy and STDs from the federation. In the ad, a dance troupe performs a musical number called "Body Urges" for a group of disinterested high school students. The performers are a spandex-wearing penis and vagina. The ad began airing on MuchMusic on Monday. The channel has also constructed a Web site as part of the program, located at <http://www.muchmusic.com/plannedparenthood>. The Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada is a national non-governmental organization with 23 affiliates. It provides information and counselling on sexual and reproductive health.
