TOSHIBA BREAKS QOSMIO CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
Electronics company Toshiba has begun a television and print campaign for a new laptop called Qosmio. The product is a wireless mobile computer that can also be used as a television, digital video recorder, music player and game machine. The ads, created by ACLC Advertising of Toronto, illustrate the mobility of the device by showing the range of places a user could lose the remote control. The 30-second television commercial shows a man looking for something in a subway, an office, a grocery store and a park. Eventually he finds the item, the remote for his computer, on top of a newspaper box. The ad displays the copy, "Where will you leave your remote?" The commercial will air until mid-December. The two print ads are done in a cartoon style. One depicts a cityscape, the other a jungle scene. Both ads are crowded with small people engaged in various activities. The image of a Qosmio remote control is hidden in each ad. The copy reads, "Where's the remote?!" Viewers who find the remote can enter a contest at <http://www.qosmio.ca>. The print ads will run from December to March in Toro, Maclean's, National Post Business, 7 Jours and L'actualité. The campaign uses the tagline "Mobility Without Limits."
