GENEX HIRES 24/7 CANADA TO HANDLE ONLINE AD SALES
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Internet marketing firm 24/7 Canada has been hired by Genex Communications of Quebec to exclusively manage online advertising sales for its subsidiary Summum Media. Genex closed Summum's online ad sales division earlier this month. 24/7 Canada took over the job on Nov. 16. The deal encompasses 12 French-language entertainment Web sites: Showbizz.net, Choi RadioX, Matinternet, Info-affaires, AlloMontréal, Circulation Montréal, Le Radio X de Québec, Magazine Adorable, Magazine Summum, CKNU FM 100.9, Les Classées and Radio Liberté. According to Genex, these sites attract approximately one million unique visitors per month. 24/7 Canada will also manage Genex's email lists, which contain approximately 50,000 addresses. The agency got the job based on reputation and a prior relationship, according to 24/7 Canada. "We believe 24/7 is a great fit to help us develop our business within the rest of Canada, as well as generate incremental revenue by having 24/7 also manage our email files," said Genex president Patrice Demers. "Leveraging 24/7's contacts and staff will significantly cut down on our operating costs, specifically in relation to ad serving and media sales." Genex also owns and operates radio stations CHOI and CKNU, magazines Summum and Adorable, an event marketing firm and an indoor advertising division.
