ALBERTO CULVER SWITCHES TO BOZELL
By Adnews Staff
Bozell Palmer Bonner's didn't waste any time after losing the Helene Curtis hair care account in Canada to DDB Needham Worldwide in February. Toronto-based Bozell went to work on Alberto Culver Canada in an effort to fill the hole left by Helene Curtis, which spent $8.8 million on Canadian advertising in 1994, according to A.C. Nielsen estimates. Yesterday the agency announced that it had taken the $5-million Alberto Culver account away from another Toronto ad shop, Ambrose Carr Linton Carroll - without a review. Bozell chairman Liz Torlée started with a foot already in the door at Alberto Culver. She had previously worked with Alberto Culver marketing vice-president David Parkinson when she was with Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising in Toronto and he worked for Saatchi client Robin Hood Multifoods of Markham, Ont.
