BROADCAST GROUPS MERGE MEETS

Three Canadian broadcasting associations have teamed up to stage a convention and media expo in Edmonton Oct. 27-29, called Broadcasting '96. In the past all three held their own individual events. The three groups are the Canadian Association of Broadcasters, the Radio Television News Directors Association and the Western Association of Broadcast Engineers. They say the benefits of merging include an expanded and improved trade show, increased attendance, cost savings for associations, a deeper pool of talent and resources to put on a better show and a higher profile.
