VERVEGIRL CONDUCTS CONTEST

Toronto-based Youth Culture Group's VerveGirl magazine has begun a new contest for Canadian young women called the "VerveGirl on the Verge Awards." According to the company, the contest will recognize the work of young girls in Canadian communities. The contest will run until May 2, 2005 and is open to Canadian females aged 12 to 19. Girls enter by having someone nominate them or by nominating themselves. Four winners will be selected over the course of the contest. Each winner receives $500 cash and a $500 donation to the charity of their choice. They will also be featured in a future issue of VerveGirl magazine, which is distributed in high schools across Canada. The contest is being promoted in VerveGirl magazine and online at <http://www.vervegirl.com>.
