OUTDOOR LIFE NETWORK BEGINS CALGARY STAMPEDE CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
The Outdoor Life Network will break a new Calgary Stampede marketing campaign on Friday called "Ringing in the Rodeo." The campaign will consist of an on-site promotional effort and an on-air contest. The on-site promotion will take place on Friday, the opening day of the event. The first six thousand people at the Stampede Grandstand will receive commemorative cowbells. At 4:00 p.m. that day, the attendees will be asked to ring the bells. At the same time, the New York Stock Exchange will, at the end of the trading day, unveil a bull called Outlaw. The event will be broadcast on the network. The contest will begin on Friday and end on July 18. The prize is a trip for two to next year's Calgary Stampede. Entrants can visit <http://www.outyougo.ca> and complete an entry form each time they see a 15-second "Ringing in the Rodeo" commercial air during the channel's coverage of the Stampede. A 30-second television ad is currently promoting the contest. The campaign was created in-house. This is the third year Outdoor Life has televised the Calgary Stampede. The network will carry four hours of coverage per day.
