LAUNDRY PRODUCTS TOP THE CLEANING LIST

Canadians spent over $890 million on cleaning products in grocery stores last year, according to A.C. Nielsen. Laundry detergents led the way with over $340 million in sales. Fabric softeners were a distant second at almost $90 million and dishwashing liquids followed with just over $77 million. Household cleaners, excluding bathroom products, had sales of over $70 million. Sales of dishwasher detergents totalled almost $50,000. Bleaches, air fresheners, toilet bowl cleaners, abrasive cleansers and glass cleaners rounded out the top 10 categories in cleaning product sales.
