AHL EXTENDS AGREEMENT WITH ROGERS SPORTSNET

The American Hockey League has extended its broadcast agreement with Rogers Sportsnet for additional three years. The two organizations signed their first deal in 2002. Sportsnet will continue to televise 12 or more regular games per season for the next three years, as well as the annual All-Star Classic games. The network will also have the option to carry games during the Calder Cup Playoffs. Sportsnet will also sell marketing packages for the league's four Canadian franchises: the Toronto Roadrunners, St. John's Maple Leafs, Hamilton Bulldogs and Manitoba Moose. The packages will include promotion of the AHL telecasts and of ticket sales for the teams.
