CHOICE HOTELS HOLDS SUMMER CONTEST

Choice Hotels Canada, based in Mississauga, will begin a promotion called "Gas. Food. Lodging" on July 1. The scratch and win contest will run at the 270 Comfort, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep, Clarion, Econo Lodge and Rodeway hotels in Canada until Sept. 15. Guests will receive a scratch card at check-in. Prizes will include free gasoline for a year from Esso and discounts at Choice hotels. Members of the company's loyalty program, Choice Club Plus, can also win bonus points. One million loyalty points will be distributed during the initiative. Families will receive a coupon for a McDonald's Happy Meal for children under 18 years of age. The contest will be promoted with radio and print advertising, plus direct and email campaigns to Choice Club members. Banner advertising on the company's Web site and collateral materials at the hotels will also be used. The creative and media buying for the radio campaign was done by MacKinnon Calderwood Advertising of Mississauga. The direct mail, email and collateral materials were handled by Choice Hotels.
