TSN BEGINS CFL CAMPAIGN

TSN has begun a new marketing campaign for its broadcasts of CFL games. The campaign, called "Life's Better on Fridays," includes television, radio, print, outdoor and Internet advertising as well as public relations. Commercials are currently running on CTV-owned channels. Nine 30-second ads, each featuring a different CFL team, depict a week in the life of a CFL fan. Thirty-second radio ads are airing in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg. Transit shelter ads are running in Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg. Print ads are running in all CFL team programs and in Bell ExpressVU and Channel Guide magazines. Online banner ads are running on TSN.ca and various CTV Web sites. The public relations component includes the return of a road tour called "TSN's On the Road with Wendy's Friday Night Football." This is the third year that Wendy's has been the title sponsor of the CFL on TSN. An online contest will run from July 19 to Aug. 22. The winner will receive a trip to the 2004 Grey Cup in Ottawa on Nov. 21. The campaign was created by CTV.
