ROGERS WIRELESS HOLDS SIMPLE PLAN CONTEST

Rogers Wireless began a contest with rock band Simple Plan yesterday. The contest will run until July 31. During the promotion, new and existing Rogers Wireless customers will receive 25,000 prizes connected to a series of concerts by the band the company will host in the fall. Concerts will take place in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Kitchener, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax. During the contest, Rogers Wireless customers will earn contest ballots when they activate or upgrade a cell phone on a two- or three-year plan. Customers can also send the text message "START" to the company, by downloading ring tones, by sending a picture message, or by activating Rogers Hi-Speed Internet or Digital Cable service. These ballots will be entered into weekly draws for Simple Plan merchandise, concert tickets, meetings, sound-checks and VIP packages. Rogers Wireless is promoting the contest with public relations, in-store materials, flyers, print advertising, regional radio, bill inserts, ads on MuchMusic and online materials at Rogers.com. Public relations are being handled by Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto. The in-store materials, flyers and print ads are being done by MacLaren McCann of Toronto.
