HOME WARRANTY PROGRAM PROMOTES NEW NAME

The Toronto-based Ontario New Home Warranty Program has changed its name to Tarion Warranty Corporation. The new brand identity, developed by McDonnell Haynes of Toronto, was introduced on April 14 at the annual luncheon of the Greater Toronto Home Builders Association. A consumer introduction took place at the National Home Show. Tarion administers the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act, which outlines the warranty protection builders must provide to new home and condominium buyers in Ontario. The new name is being promoted with newspaper and trade magazine advertising in major Ontario markets. Radio advertising is airing in Ottawa and Toronto. In addition to introducing the new name, the campaign will also attempt to raise awareness of warranty protections for new home buyers. The advertising will run for four weeks. Media planning and buying for the campaign was done by The Media Company of Toronto.
