MOLSON PROMOTES SLIM BEER CAN PACKAGING

Montreal-based Molson has begun using a new 250ml beer can in Canada. The slim can packaging will be used by three brands: Cold Shots, an extension of the Molson Canadian and Molson Dry brands, and by Molson Ultra. Molson Dry Cold Shots will be sold in eight-packs in Quebec. Molson Canadian Cold Shots will be sold in four-packs and eight-packs in Ontario and Alberta. Molson Ultra will be sold in eight-packs in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. Television advertising for the slim cans will begin next month. Retail promotions will take place in western Canada. A new Web site has been created at <http://www.coldshots.ca>. Advertising for Molson Canadian and Molson Ultra is done by Bensimon Byrne of Toronto.
