Rogers Video of Richmond, BC plans to enter Quebec. The video retailer will open 10 to 12 stores per year over the next five years. The first two will open in Ville LaSalle and Longueuil next month. Rogers Video operates approximately 280 stores in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and the Yukon. According to Chuck van der Lee, president of Rogers Video, the retailer always intended to expand nationally. "After conducting research from both the marketing and real estate standpoints, we believe this is a great opportunity for us to bring our concept to Quebec, and the most important place to start is in the Greater Montreal Area," he said. Advertising for Rogers Video is done by MacLaren McCann of Vancouver. In Quebec, the retailer will use Montreal ad agency Marketel and the public relations firm Torchia Communications, also based in Montreal.
