CTV HOLDS CORNER GAS CONTESTS
By Adnews Staff
CTV has begun running three new contests on the Web site of its comedy series Corner Gas. Visitors to <www.cornergas.com> can enter to win a walk-on guest appearance on the show, become mayor of the site's online community or win a piece of land in Climax, SK. Cornergas.com has been designed as an online replica of Dog River, the fictional, prairie town in which the series is set. Visitors become virtual residents of the town and collect Dog River Dollars. The first contest, the Dog River Talent contest, invites residents to submit their best joke, short monologue or funny routine. Online residents vote for the best one and the winner receives a walk-on role on the show. The second contest, the Mayor of Dog River contest, is open to residents with at least 40,000 Dog River Dollars. Those interested in participating can enter an online election to become mayor of Dog River. A vote by online residents will determine the winner. The third contest, the Win a Piece of Saskatchewan contest, will reward the person with the most Dog River Dollars at the end of the season with a piece of land in Climax, SK. CTV is promoting the Cornergas.com Web site at the end of each show.
