Vancouver-based Palmer Jarvis DDB has dropped Palmer Jarvis from its name to become DDB Canada. The change, effective immediately, is part of a global re-branding initiative involving 60 DDB offices internationally. "The re-branding by DDB Worldwide addresses the need to move from a 'local name first' branding policy in many places around the world, to one that gives prominence to the DDB name," said Frank Palmer, chairman and CEO of DDB Canada. Palmer was part of a branding committee that recommended the network adopt one global name. Under the re-branding, affected agencies will drop their first names and be identified by DDB and either the corresponding country or city name for local identity. DDB Canada divisions Tribal DDB, Rapp Collins, Karacters Design Group and DDB Kid Think are not affected by the change. PJ DDB Public Relations in Toronto has been re-named DDB Public Relations. Palmer and George Jarvis founded Palmer Jarvis in 1975. The agency merged with DDB in 1997 to become Palmer Jarvis DDB.
