TORONTO FILM FESTIVALS TO RECEIVE MARKETING SUPPORT FROM TORONT03 ALLIANCE
By Adnews Staff
Two Toronto film festivals will receive marketing support from the Toront03 Alliance this year. The non-profit organization works to increase Toronto's tourism economy. The Hot Docs documentary festival and the Canadian Film Centre Short Film Festival will each receive $75,000 to implement international media, public relations and Web-based campaigns intended to increase coverage of the two events by international media outlets. The campaigns will also seek to increase the presence of the events at international film festivals. The overall aim is to attract audiences and international participation to the festivals lost this year due to SARS. The 2004 Hot Docs festival will take place April 23 to May 2. The Toronto Worldwide Short Film Festival will run from May 11 to 16.
