ACA FORMS CANADIAN SPONSORSHIP MARKETING COUNCIL

The Association of Canadian Advertisers has formed the Canadian Sponsorship Marketing Council. The four key objectives of the new council include creating a body of knowledge, encouraging the development of measurement tools, introducing educational programs and celebrating sponsorship marketing's best work through the establishment of an awards program. Members of the council's founding steering committee include Jo-Ann McArthur of Molson Sports & Entertainment, Ron Lund of the ACA, Richard Burjaw of Pepsi-QTG Canada, Susan Charles of the ACA, Nicole Dubé of the Dairy Farmers of Canada, Lisa Ferguson of IBM Canada, Susan Harley of Aliant, Paul Hétu of the ACA, Dave Hopkinson of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, Jennifer Howard of AMEX Bank of Canada, Stephen Kouri of Unilever Canada, Dean MacNeil of Juice Sponsorship Strategies, Marilyn Michener of Wakeham and Associates, Patricia Straker of RBC Financial Group, Patrick Taylor of Downtown Toronto Jazz Festival and Dean Tesser, Ford Motor Company of Canada. Membership in the council is open to all advertisers, marketing communications agencies, consultants and suppliers and owners of sponsorship properties. ACA members automatically receive privileges of the council.
