LABATT AND CARLSBERG TO END BREWING AGREEMENT

On Jan. 15 Labatt Breweries of Canada and Carlsberg Breweries of Copenhagen will end the brewing agreement the two companies formed in 1988. The brewing, marketing and distribution of Carlsberg beers in Canada will be handled in future by a newly formed Toronto-based company called Carlsberg Canada. Sales and distribution will be done by The Premium Beer Company. Brewing of Carlsberg in Canada, except in Quebec, will be done by Moosehead Breweries of New Brunswick. In Quebec, brewing and distrubtion will be done by McAuslan Brewing of Montreal.
