COFFIN PLEADS NOT GUILTY
By Adnews Staff
Paul Coffin has pleaded not guilty to fraud charges according to a report in The Globe and Mail. Coffin appeared in court on Tuesday. In September the RCMP arrested Coffin, operator of Montreal-based Communication Coffin, and charged him with 18 counts of fraud against the federal government. Coffin is alleged to have collected $2 million in false invoices between 1997 and 2002. The charges are the first to be laid in the RCMP's investigation of the federal government's sponsorship program.
