UNICEF BEGINS HALLOWEEN ADVERTISING
By Adnews Staff
United Nations Children's Fund Canada is running a Halloween advertising campaign through POPMedia, operated by Motomedia Advertising of Woodbridge, ON. The service displays video advertising in Hasty Markets, Gateway News and International News stands in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. The UNICEF Halloween ad broke in September. It shows a young girl from a developing nation with the caption "New school books, healthy vitamins, protein rich food, and two wool blankets, so who do we thank? - A six-year-old dressed as Dracula." UNICEF donation boxes have also been placed in some Gateway News stands. The boxes are used by children to collect donations for UNICEF while trick-or-treating. The ad was created by Grey Worldwide of Toronto. UNICEF has also prepared a Christmas ad that will focus on the organization's Christmas card initiative. That creative, also done by Grey, shows children in developing countries holding signs that remind viewers to send cards to relatives.
