QUEBEC FESTIVAL RELEASES EGG AD EFFORT
By Adnews Staff
The Festival d'automne de Quebec has hired Montreal-based Egg Ads Media to promote the event's first season. The festival logo and dates (Oct. 30 to Nov. 1) have been printed on approximately one million eggs sold for domestic consumption in eastern Quebec. The egg advertising began appearing two weeks prior to the event. Egg Ads Media uses an automated labeling system to transfer an ad or message onto the surface of an eggshell. According to the agency, the same adhesive is used for attaching labels to fruits and vegetables. Geneviève de Montigny, communications director for the festival, said, "We wanted to stand out by creating a highly colourful event that will amaze people. So using an equally amazing advertising medium was the natural thing to do." Egg Ads Media, division of Allégorie Marketing, has been offering this egg advertising service since May. Its first campaign was for Opération Enfant Soleil.
