LCBO PROMOTES THE NEW WORLD OF ONTARIO WINES

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario began a month-long promotion of Ontario wines yesterday called "Discover the New World of Ontario Wines." The initiative will use in-store materials in the province's 600 LCBO outlets. Also, tastings will be conducted at some locations. The board's Web site at <http://www.lcbo.com> will encourage consumers to visit three of the province's wine regions. The site will offer itineraries for visiting wineries and feature winemaker profiles, recipes and wine pairing information. A brochure and four free standing inserts have also been created by GJP Advertising of Toronto. The brochure will accompany the in-store materials. The inserts will be distributed in newspapers around the province. Three articles on the subject of Ontario wines appeared in the August issue of LCBO's magazine Food & Drink. The free publication is distributed through LCBO outlets.
