FRIENDS OF CANADIAN BROADCASTING TO TELL CANADIAN STORIES

Friends of Canadian Broadcasting is preparing a national television campaign that that will promote the importance of telling stories about Canada on TV. The advertising will include four 30-second commercials in which comedian David Huband will play a Hollywood director named "Buck Calder" who is in Canada to make films about Rocket Richard, John A. MacDonald, Bobby Orr and the Canadian North. The ads will air as public service announcements on stations including CBC, CTV and CHUM. Cineplex Odeon will also show a longer version of one ad in its theatres nationally.
