ENERGIZER BEGINS ROAD TRIP CAMPAIGN

Palmer Jarvis DDB of Toronto has created a new campaign for Energizer Canada for Energizer Max batteries. The campaign, called "Chris, Mike and Tom's Canadian Road Trip," broke yesterday. The creative presents three men travelling across Canada with a digital camera powered by Energizer batteries. A transit shelter ad slide show includes 7,500 digital camera images taken by the men. Bus shelters in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver have been equipped with video screens that will display the slide show continuously until mid-November. A radio promotion tied to the campaign will begin later this month in the three cities. Radio ads will direct people to certain transit shelter locations to answer questions and win prizes. Participating stations will also run the slide show on their Web sites. In a separate campaign for the batteries, two radio ads are running in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Quebec City and Halifax. The ads show the consequences of not using Energize Max batteries. In one ad, called "Remote," a man gets stuck on the shopping network when his remote control batteries die and as a result buys a set of porcelain figurines. Bus wraps are also being used in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. The wraps seek to create the illusion the bus is travelling at high speed because of the power of Energizer batteries. A television campaign for Energize Max batteries is also planned, but no details are currently available.
