STANDARD RADIO ACQUIRES INTEREST IN MARTZ

Toronto-based Standard Radio has has purchased 25% of Martz Communications Group of Reno, NV. No financial details are known. Martz operates nine radio stations in New York. "This investment represents a platform for Standard Radio to invest in and enter the radio broadcasting business in the U.S.," said Gary Slaight, president and chief executive officer of Standard Broadcasting. Standard operates 51 stations in Canada. Integrated Media Sales, the firm that represents Standard Radio, will represent the Martz stations where they have an overflow audience in Canada.
