FAMILY CHANNEL HOLDS SUMMER CHILL TOUR
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Family Channel is in the middle of a promotion called the Summer Chill Tour. During the initiative, a logo-wrapped ice cream truck will visit 40 cities nationally to distribute free freezies to children. A 30-second commercial, created in-house and airing four times per day, identifies the town at which the truck is currently located. TrojanOne of Toronto is managing the tour, which began in Fredericton on July 5 and will end in Victoria on Sept. 1. A contest is running concurrently with the tour. To enter, viewers must visit the <http://www.family.ca> Web site and submit the date and time at which they saw the "brain freeze" icon appear during a broadcast. The icon will appear during the Popcorn Pix Double Scoop block of movie programming on Friday nights for the length of the contest. Weekly winners will receive family passes to various amusement parks. The grand prize winner will receive a seven-day trip for four to Orlando, FL to visit Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Wet 'n Wild and Islands of Adventure. The contest is being promoted with a 30-second commercial, created in-house, airing four times daily.
