AUTO RACING NON-PROFIT BEGINS SPONSORSHIP CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
An online marketing campaign got underway on Friday to promote TeamA.I.M., a newly-created non-profit organization aimed at young Canadians interested in becoming race car drivers and auto racing engineers. The organization, based in Woodbridge, ON, intends to support aspiring racers, who may not have the resources necessary to progress up the ladder of the profession, by securing corporate sponsorships. "The single greatest barrier to entry in professional racing is money," said Ian Willis, one of the program's founders. "With the financial support of Canadian companies, TeamA.I.M. will be able to remove that obstacle and fund the careers of Canada's most talented racing prospects." The campaign is being handled by the Centre for IBM E-Business Innovation in Toronto. The company has developed a marketing strategy and identity for the program and created marketing materials to increase interaction between TeamA.I.M. and racing fans. The agency will also work to build awareness of the organization with young people interested in racing careers, and develop strategies to attract corporate sponsorship. The centre has also constructed a Web site for TeamA.I.M. at <http://www.teamaim.ca>.
