ROAD SAFETY CONSTRUCTION CAMPAIGN TO RUN IN ALBERTA

Partners in Road Construction Safety will begin a public awareness campaign in Alberta today. The goal of the campaign is to promote safe driving through constructions zones. The creative, developed by Margaret Kool Marketing, uses the tagline, "don't rip through construction zones." Two radio ads called "I'm Late" and "Long Weekend" will air during long weekends through the summer. The campaign will also include billboards and other materials including letters and bumpers stickers. Partners in Road Construction Safety consists of Alberta Transportation, The City of Edmonton Transportation and Streets, The City of Calgary, Roads, Edmonton Police Service, The City of St. Albert, The Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association, EPCOR, ENMAX and Strathcona County. According to Heidi Harris, chair of the organization, the campaign may be turned into an annual effort.
