CANNES AWARDS RECAP

Several Canadian agencies were winners at this year's Cannes International Advertising Festival, which ran from June 15 to 21 in the French city. Downtown Partners won gold in the film category for advertising for Labatt's Budweiser brand. Ads for Rogers AT&T Wireless by MacLaren McCann won silver, as did ads for the Familiprix drugstore chain by Bos and advertising for the Canadian Hockey Association by Palmer Jarvis DDB. Palmer Jarvis also won a bronze lion for advertising for the BC Dairy Foundation. In the Press category Taxi and Palmer Jarvis were both gold winners. Taxi won for advertising it created for the Canadian Film Centre, while Palmer Jarvis won for advertising created for SuperPages.
