FAMILY CHANNEL BEGINS JAM CAMPAIGN

Family Channel has begun an on-air and online promotion in association with Kraft Canada. The promotion involves Kraft Kitchens, the company's recipe group, and Kraft brand Certo Pectin. Called "Family Jammin' With Certo Pectin," the promotion is tied to Family Channel's weekend "double pix" programming block. The on-air materials include a 10-second pre-promotional ad, five 60-second commercials and a 15-second contest ad. The pre-promotional ad, airing 12 times a day, encourages viewers to watch the weekend double pix. The 60-second ads convey a jam-making recipe. The contest ad directs viewers to the Family Channel Web site where a special area for the promotion contains jam recipes, a jar decorating video, jam-making tips and a contest with a weekly prize. The initiative will run until Sept. 7. It was developed by Family Channel, Kraft and Onyx Marketing Group after Kraft and Onyx approached Family. The shorter ads were created in-house. The 60-second interstitials were created by Pointman! Productions.
