SECOND CUP PROMOTES TIAMO BEVERAGES

Second Cup has introduced a new line of chilled beverages called Tiamo. The drinks, a mixture of tea, fruit juice and ice, come in two flavours: Berry Burst and Tropical Twist. An in-store program in all Canadian Second Cup locations is supporting the product launch, according to Mike Arseneault, director of marketing for the chain. The coffee retailer will also operate a sampling program called "Icy Fridays" during the summer. On Fridays customers will be able to sample a featured beverage. For June and July, that beverage will be Tiamo. Second Cup will also conduct a separate sampling program for Tiamo that will visit some Second Cup patio locations in Toronto and events of which Second Cup is a sponsor of this summer. This program will involve Tiki Huts and Hula Girls. Also, an on-line contest has begun at <http://www.secondcup.com>. The winner will receive a trip for two to the Bahamas. The advertising and promotion for Tiamo was done by Holmes & Lee. The Tiki Hut and Hula Girl sampling program will be managed by Ground Control. Public relations for Second Cup are handled by Strategic Objectives. All of these firms are based in Toronto.
