WEATHER NETWORK MOVES ACCOUNT TO BOS

According to Toronto-based Holmes & Lee, its five-year agency relationship with The Weather Network is over. The national specialty station plans to move its account to Bos in Montreal, the incumbent was informed. "We have yet to be given a substantive reason for the review, let along the change," said Peter Holmes, creative director and chairman of Holmes & Lee. The agency's work for The Weather Network includes a billboard campaign that promotes the station's accuracy. The campaign, which uses black headlines on yellow backgrounds, has been running since 1998. Scott Simms, manager of public affairs and communications for The Weather Network, said he could not confirm or deny that the account will move to Bos. He said the station will make an announcement about its advertising business within the next few days.
