FRITO LAY PROMOTES TASTES OF CANADA CHIP FLAVOURS

Frito Lay Canada of Mississauga is promoting two new flavours that are part of a Tastes of Canada line of chip flavours: Calgary's Wild Stampede BBQ and P.E.I. Loaded Baked Potato. Other flavours to come will be based on other regions of Canada. The new flavours will be sold for a limited time. To launch the line, Frito Lay representatives will be in Charlottetown on May 27 and Calgary June 27 to present the first symbolic bags of potato chips to provincial and city officials. In October, two more Tastes of Canada flavours will be released. The flavours to be used will be voted on by visitors to <http://www.lays.ca>. The options will be Cape Breton Sea Salt & Pepper, Montreal Marche Jean-Talon Herb & Garlic, Toronto College Street Pizza and Whistler Cool Dill. The voting will be promoted with a radio campaign planned and bought by OMD with and BBDO. Proximity handled the Web site design for the promotion. Strateco designed the packaging and in-store materials. Ketchum is handling public relations.
