WARNE PLUGS INTO FUSE MAKER

Warne Inc./Marketing & Communications of Toronto is launching a print campaign next month for an electronic equipment firm called Gould Shawmut Company. Gould makes fuses and related devices. Its products include Select-A-Fuse software that helps consultants and electrical engineers quickly determine the most appropriate fuse for a circuit. Warne was given the account late last year in a competition with three other agencies, including incumbent Heggie Advertising of Thornhill, Ont. Warne was chosen because "they demonstrated a unique understanding of the value and role of the specialized business press," Gould sales and marketing vice-president Jim Milne says in a release. "Warne also has experience in the range of marketing services that we wanted in our new marketing partner." The annual advertising budget for Gould is $100,000. Gould Shawmut of Toronto is a division of Gould Electronics (Canada).
