HEINZ AWARDS FROZEN FOOD MEDIA BUYING TO STARCOM

The H.J. Heinz Company of Pittsburgh, PA has assigned the media buying for its frozen food brands to Starcom. Media planning duties remain with OMD San Francisco. Heinz's frozen food brands include Ore-Ida, Bagel Bites, Smart Ones, Boston Market, TGI Friday's and Delimex Snacks. With this assignment, Starcom has become the media buying agency of record for all of Heinz's U.S. consumer products. "We have benefited from Starcom's strong stewardship during the past five years with our ketchup, condiment and sauce brands and we're looking forward to bringing the agency's expertise to bear with our frozen food brands," said Brian Hansberry, vice-president of marketing for Heinz North America. Starcom is also the media buyer for Heinz's recently spun off pet foods and pet snacks division, now owned by Del Monte Foods.
