NORTHERN GETAWAY PROMOTES WEB SITE

Children's fashion retailer Northern Getaway is promoting the launch of its Web site at <http://www.northerngetaway.com> with a six-week national marketing campaign. The site is being promoted as a virtual playground for kids. In a part of the site called Getaway Island, a visitor can create a character and then use the character to explore the island and interact with other visitors. Weave Communications and 10plus1 Communications of Toronto developed the site. Weave is also co-ordinating the supporting marketing campaign, which includes posters and flyers in Northern Gateway, banner ads on YTV.com, MSN.ca, Sympatico.ca and AOL.ca, and an email campaign. A national public relations effort by Media Profile of Toronto is also planned. That initiative will focus on the safety features of the site. The site is also being promoted with a contest in which visitors can win a trip for four to Fort Lauderdale.
