HUDSON'S BAY EXPANDS HOME OUTFITTERS CHAIN

The Toronto-based Hudson's Bay Company plans to expand its Home Outfitters chain of kitchen, bed and bath stores to include nine new locations. The chain will enter the cities of Halifax, Windsor, Quebec City, and Kelowna for the first time. Additional stores will also be opened in Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. In Quebec the chain operates as Déco Découverte. "The customer response to the Home Outfitters concept has been overwhelmingly positive and as a result, the rate at which we open stores continues to accelerate," said Bill Morrison, general manager of the chain. "Our goal is to continue to expand this chain over the next few years." The first of the nine stores will open in Calgary and Toronto on April 17. The Montreal and Quebec City stores will open on July 10. The Halifax and Windsor openings will occur on September 4. The openings in Toronto and Kelowna will take place on October 23. Advertising for Home Outfitters is done by Padulo Integrated of Toronto.
