WEATHER NETWORK READIES SPRING CAMPAIGN

The Weather Network of Mississauga will break a spring advertising campaign on Monday. The 24-hour national specialty station will use more outdoor billboards to promote its forecasting accuracy. The network began this billboard campaign, which uses black headlines over yellow backgrounds, in 1998. The new creative uses the copy "Reality TV is Nothing New," "Annoyingly Right All the Time" and "Stay Tuned for Scenes from Next Week." The boards will run in major markets from British Columbia to Ontario. One ad in Toronto consists of two billboards located across the street from each other. Each board is blank except for a quotation mark. The campaign, created by Holmes & Lee of Toronto, will run for eight weeks.
