L'OREAL PARIS BECOMES TITLE SPONSOR OF TORONTO FASHION WEEK

Beauty care company L'Oréal Paris has signed an agreement with the Fashion Design Council of Canada to become the first title sponsor of Toronto Fashion Week. The event, now called "L'Oréal Paris presents Toronto Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2003," will take place from March 18 to 21. The semi-annual event promotes the work of Canadian fashion designers. As part of the agreement L'Oréal Paris will provide the makeup and hair designs for the event's runway shows. The company is also holding a contest called "Runway to Reality," the winner of which will receive a trip for two to the next Toronto Fashion Week, including a beauty session with a L'Oréal makeup artist, a dressing session with a fashion designer and a personal photo shoot. "We are very pleased that L'Oréal is continuing, and in fact expanding, their artistic, marketing and financial support of Toronto Fashion Week," said Robin Kay, president of the design council. "As a result of the continued support of such generous sponsors, the FDDC is able to showcase the rich fabric of Canadian design while facilitating a runway to the global marketplace." The terms of the sponsorship agreement are not known.
