DESJARDINS EXPANDS MORTGAGE CAMPAIGN FOR 2003

Quebec financial institution Desjardins has expanded its mortgage campaign for 2003. The effort will run until July 31. One addition is a promotional tour called "Oh Yeah! You win you home," during which actress and singer Nanette Workman will visit winners at their homes. Another element is an additional prize of up to $20,000 for contest winners who opt for the Homeowners Plus package with their disability insurance. Desjardins' 2002 mortgage campaign centered on its rate of 4.5% for the first year of a mortgage and the chance to win the value of the home. Those inducements will continue to be offered this year. The campaign is being supported with print ads, created by Marketel of Montreal, in Quebec newspapers and magazines. Public relations are being handled by BDDS Weber Shandwick of Montreal.
