SECOND CUP READIES NEW BILLBOARD CREATIVE

Toronto-based Second Cup will release new creative in its ongoing "Second Cup. First Thing." outdoor advertising campaign next week. The ads, which will run for eight weeks, will promote several of the coffee retailer's blends and beverages. One billboard reads "Authentic Mocha Java. Proudly served since 1600 A.D." Another reads "Paradiso dark, medium and decaf. Excuses for mood swings." The ads were created by Second Cup's agency of record Holmes and Lee of Toronto. Media planning and buying was handled by Gaggi Media of Toronto. According to the company, Second Cup has several other marketing initiatives planned for 2003 involving new product launches, expansions, sponsorships and partnerships. No further details are available at this time. Public relations for Second Cup are handled by Strategic Objectives of Toronto.
