TIM HORTONS RELEASES NEW TRUE STORIES SPOT
By Adnews Staff
Tim Hortons has released a new execution in its True stories coffee campaign. Created by Enterprise Creative Selling of Toronto, the campaign presents stories based on real customer experiences. It has been running for the past eight years, with one new commercial each year. The new ad tells the story of David Mole, a Canadian studying at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Mole and the other Canadian students at the university create a room called "Caribou House," filled with Canadian items such as hockey jerseys, canoe paddles, a Canadian flag and moose antlers. Mole then writes to Tim Hortons because the situation still doesn't feel completely Canadian. The next scene shows the students pouring themselves cups of coffee while Mole sits next to a box from Tim Hortons with a take-out cup. "You know, there are some things that just say home," Mole says. The ad ends with the words, "Tim Hortons. The coffee you can count on." The commercial will run nationally until mid-May.
