MSN BEGINS HOLIDAY SHOPPING PROMOTION
By Adnews Staff
Internet portal MSN.ca has begun a holiday promotion for its shopping service called "Fill Your Stocking." The contest will run until Dec. 15 at <http://shopping.msn.ca>. Consumers enter by finding "stocking stuffers" that have been hidden within the site. When an item is found it is added to the consumer's "virtual stocking." One item will be hidden each day of the contest. Consumers receive one contest entry for each item they find. Three winners will receive all of the items in their stockings. One of the three winners will also receive $10,000 in cash. The contest is being promoted with television and online advertising created by MacLaren McCann of Toronto. Separately, MSN.ca is also running a new television commercial. In this ad, also created by MacLaren McCann, a man finishes his Christmas shopping online and then drives to a shopping mall to circle the parking lot and yell "I'm done" from his car window. Public relations for MSN.ca are handled by High Road Communications of Toronto.
