PEPSI TO RELEASE NEW BLUE COMMERCIAL

Pepsi-Cola Canada Ltd. of Mississauga will break a new 30-second television commercial for its Pepsi Blue cola on Nov. 11. The ad, which will run nationally in English and French, was created by BBDO New York and adapted for Canada by BBDO Toronto. The creative makes use of a mixture of two styles of music, intended to represent the mixture of cola and berry flavours in the drink. The new commercial coincides with the introduction this week of 12-can packages of the product. Previously, the soda has distributed in 600 ml and 2L bottles. "Pepsi Blue sales have exceeded our aggressive expectations," said Pepsi-Cola vice-president of marketing Michael Hartman. "Our research shows exceptional awareness, trial and repeat for Pepsi Blue, indicating strong consumer acceptance of the product." Public relations for Pepsi are handled by Praxis Public Relations of Mississauga.
