STREET KIDS INTERNATIONAL AIRS PSA ON CHUM
By Adnews Staff
A new 30-second television public service announcement for Street Kids International is running on Chum Television's local and specialty channels. Street Kids International is a Toronto-based charity that helps street kids improve their lives. The PSA was created by Chum. It introduces three street kids: a 15-year-old pickpocket named Carlos, a 16-year-old named Mulenga who lives in a cardboard box and a 13-year-old prostitute named Raya. The scene then moves forward one year to show Carlos working as a bike courier and Mulenga working as a youth worker. Raya is still on the street. The spot ends with the copy, "Street Kids International helps street kids around the world build better lives. While it's not too late for some of these kids, we can't reach them all. We need your help." The ad will run through 2003. Chum's local channels include The New VI, Citytv Vancouver, Citytv Toronto, The New WI, The New PL, The New NX, The New RO and The New VR. Its specialty stations include Bravo, CablePulse24, Drive-In Classics, MuchMusic and Space: The Imagination Station.
