FINANCIAL PLANNERS PICK NEW GROUP NAME

The Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and the Canadian Association of Financial Planners have chosen a name for their new group: Advocis. The two organizations will merge into a single operation on Jan. 1, 2003. A new logo and a new company word-mark, "Listening First," have also been produced. Toronto-based branding coach Ted Matthews worked on the naming assignment. "An aggressive branding campaign to inform consumers about the benefits of working with an Advocis advisor is planned for the new year," said Brian Davis, chairman of CAFP. "Until then, the organization will focus on introducing Advocis to the industry at events throughout the fall." Advertising for Advocis will be handled in-house.
