ALLIANCE ATLANTIS READIES MARKETING CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL

Alliance Atlantis Broadcast Group is preparing a marketing campaign for its National Geographic Channel. The campaign will run for two months in an effort to attract subscribers to the channel. The print advertising shows a man discovering an ancient tomb while looking through a television with a flashlight. A direct mail piece will be sent to digital cable customers who have not subscribed to the National Geographic Channel. It will make use of similar creative, as will three 30-second radio ads. Each of these commercials will put the listener in the role of an explorer making a new discovery. Print advertising will run in magazines including enRoute, TV Guide, Canadian Geographic and Explore. Radio advertising will air in Toronto and Ottawa. These materials were created by FCB Toronto. Television advertising, created in-house, shows images of National Geographic experts on explorations. It will run on Alliance Atlantis channels Life Network, History Television, HGTV Canada, Food Network Canada, Discovery Health Channel and BBC Canada.
